Safeguarding

Across our Federation we all recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. We are alert to signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures and policies to ensure that children receive effective support and protection.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are:

Mr Hicks, Mrs McClue, Mrs Smith, Mr Bielby & Mrs Knight

We keep children safe by:

  •  Having an up to date safeguarding/child protection policy
  • Checking the suitability of all our staff that work with children through stringent checking procedures.
  • Having an open-door policy where concerns can be shared in confidence.
  • Ensuring all members of staff have responsibility for safeguarding.
  • Ensuring all our staff have up to date child protection and safeguarding training.
  • Sharing information with appropriate agencies if we have concerns.
  • Having five identified members of staff who have a designated responsibility for safeguarding and who meet regularly to discuss any concerns.

If you have a concern about a child or young person, you can contact any of the Designated Safeguarding Leads named above. Your concern will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.

 Or you can contact:

  • Children Services Customer Service Centre on 01522 782111 to make a safeguarding referral.
  • The police on 101 or 999 if in an emergency.

IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OR WELLBEING OF ANY CHILD YOU KNOW, YOU SHOULD ACT WITHOUT DELAY.
